Opened in 2022, Holly Green has recently bought the business from her mum. Holly previously worked with her father at Perfect Floors and Interiors. Following the birth of her second daughter, she wanted a new challenge and this seemed the perfect opportunity.
Her mum left her a firm base but Holly is not letting things stand still. Business is thriving and Holly is anxious to build on their success. Holly says that with her great staff, they have a loyal customer base, but are looking to widen the demographic and encourage younger people to come in. Her cafe and courtyard are centrally located and she hopes to introduce events to attract charities and local organisations.
She plans to introduce healthy choices as well as keeping all the popular items on the menu. She is proud the café has shown that food establishments can operate safely with canine guests, and hopes that other local venues will follow Dory’s example. “We have never had a problem with any dog in the café” she says, “and there is always a lovely, friendly atmosphere.” In addition to the pet shop, she is considering local deliveries of pet food for those who find larger items difficult.
As a busy working parent with two daughters, Holly’s energy and enthusiasm will guide the business to further success. “We can’t stand still” she says “but we will always put our customers, both new and old at the heart of what we do. We always listen to what they say and use this in our planning.”
