OPAL’s aim is to enrich the lives of older people and carers in rural West Cheshire, by helping them to feel connected to their community, socialise, stay independent and live at home for longer. There are 6 clubs and the Frodsham club meets on Tuesdays at the Methodist Church, Kingsley Road between 10.00am and 2.00pm. There are a number of activities including quizzes, games, music, crafts, exercise and speakers. A hot homemade meal is made by volunteers and there is plenty of tea and chat. OPAL celebrated its 10th birthday on 18th March with a buffet lunch and a singer, and hosted many guests who have supported them over the years.
One of their members, Giulio, celebrates his 101st birthday in April and will no doubt dress up for the occasion, as he loves to do. Happy birthday Giulio!
There is a waiting list at the moment but if you are looking to join the club, please contact Zoe on 07562 619275 or email at zoe.
